More than 100 musicians part of hymn festival

A 90-member choir and 25-member orchestra will celebrate the words and music of great Christian hymns during the Hymn Festival.

The concert will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at the LDS Stake Center, 2542 G Road. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m., and adults and children ages 8 and older are invited to attend the free concert.

Monte Atkinson will be the conductor for the concert, which also will feature guest organist Martha Sandford-Heyns, according to a news release for the festival.

The choir and orchestra will perform a “concert of hymn arrangements from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir repertoire,” the release said.
