KAFM’s Zombie Prom offers prizes, fun

Can’t get enough zombie? Then drag your self over to one of these zombie-related events:

■ The Zombie Apocalypse Festival hosted by Mesa County Patriots will be from 4–7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at 753 37 8/10 Road, Palisade.

The evening will feature DJ Coultergeist, a dunk tank for local politicians, candidates and media, a best zombie costume prize, pizza and beer. A suggested donation to this all-ages event is $10.

■ The Zombie/Monster Walk will begin at 11:11 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the roundabout at Seventh and Main streets. For information about this undead walk, go to the Zombie/Monster Walk Grand Junction Facebook page.



Grab your undead friends, gussy up your gross, and head to the KAFM Zombie Prom.

The dead will rise to the occasion beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Mesa Theater and Lounge, 538 Main St.

Prom DJs are Daytona, Strangefellow, Goe Goe, Bullnasty DJ Jett, DJ Ravin and Hydro. Illumicirque will perform and VJ Coltrain will offer visuals.

Dig into the deepest depths of rot, morbid or grotesque zombie attire and you could win a prize. The best of the ghoul and macabre could be crowed king or queen after the costume contest at midnight.

Smile “pretty,” prom portraits will be taken for posterity.

Advance tickets cost $10. Tickets at the door cost $12. Proceeds will benefit KAFM 88.1 Community Radio. Purchase tickets at KAFM Radio, Mad Margaret’s, The Raw Canvas and the Planet Earth and the 4 Directions Gallery.
