Kannah Creek Brewing Co. to benefit KAFM with Radio Daze fundraiser
No need to BYOB to this party. Kannah Creek Brewing Co. has it covered.
The local brewery again will sell a special beer by the pint from 3–10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, with proceeds supporting KAFM 88.1 Community Radio during the annual Radio Daze fundraiser.
This year’s beer is a 300-watt ale in honor of KAFM’s recent upgrade from a 16-watt signal to a 300-watt signal. The beer will cost $3 a pint and is a speciality brew for KAFM, Kannah Creek brewer Jim Jeffryes said.
“It’s a good crisp beer to have when it’s hot,” he said.
The 300-watt ale is a Kölsch-style ale modeled after a German blond ale.
Live music also will be part of Radio Daze at Kannah Creek, 1960 N. 12th St., with free performances from Flat Top Reed, Jack + Jill, Dreamboat and The North 17th Street Band.
In addition, KAFM will have a drawing for four prizes: a two-night stay at Gateway Canyons Resort with tickets to the Blues and Barbecue Festival; a women’s Electra Cruiser bike from Brown Cycles; two, four-day passes to the Moab Folk Festival with accommodations; and an acoustic guitar from J.B. Hart Music with lessons from John Scott Schultz.
Tickets for the drawing are $10 each and may be purchased at Radio Daze as well as at KAFM, 1310 Ute Ave. Ticket holders don’t have to be at Kannah Creek to win.
