Killswitch ‘will shred your face off’
Sometimes, you just need to shake things up a little, even if it’s something as simple as returning to your roots.
It worked for metal band Killswitch Engage, which reunited with original frontman Jesse Leach after a decade-long absence.
Killswitch Engage with guests Battlecross and Nothing More will rock the stage at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Mesa Theater and Lounge, 538 Main St.
KsE — as the band refers to itself on its Facebook bio — saw huge success with its 2004 album, “Alive or Just Breathing,” earning a Grammy nomination the following year for the title track “The End of Heartache,” the bio says.
The band appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and graced the covers of countless metal and rock magazines around the world. Relentless touring in the ‘00s saw KsE on the bill at Ozzfest, the Warped Tour and Taste of Chaos.
“Call it coming full circle, returning to their roots or coming home again” and bringing Leach back into the lineup is an exciting change, the bio says.
“We know you’re going to love it. This is truly a new era in KsE history and it is ready to shred your face off.”
Tickets to the Mesa Theater show cost $27.
