Learn first-hand how artists make creations at First Friday
Demo Nite 2010, Art in the Making will highlight The Art Center’s First Friday on Friday, Nov. 5.
Artist introductions will be at 6:30 p.m. and the reception will be from 7–9 p.m. at The Art Center, 1803 N. Seventh St. The reception will feature a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres and music by Morgann Means.
Artists who will be working in the galleries and studios during the evening are Gary Andrews, Robbie Breaux, Joshua Butler, Ann Kurz Chambers, Rachel Egelston, Jac Kephart, Karly Koster, Shari Daly-Miller, Dianna Fritzler, High Desert Belly Dancers, Sheri LeBeau, Susan Ouellette and the Art Center’s artist in residence Terry Shepherd.
Ongoing exhibits are: “What? What? Abstraction from the Permanent Collection plus 13,” on display through Nov. 13; “More is More, More or Less, Less is More,” through Tuesday, Nov. 9; “Rocky Mountain Collage Biennial Members’ Show,” through Nov. 13; and the 63rd annual “Brush and Palette Club Members’ Show,” through Nov. 13.

The Cultural Canvas Juried Art Show opening will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at Mesa County Libraries’ Central Library, 530 Grand Ave.
The exhibit opening will be in conjunction with the library’s Cultural Festival, Creating a Cultural Canvas, taking place Saturday, Nov. 6.
There will be food from different cultures and a variety of entertainment from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

First Friday Art in the Grand Valley with artists Kofi Danso and Rose Nordenberg will be from 5–7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens, 641 Struthers Ave.
