Lights to shine brightly on downtown tree

Take a break from the frenzied Thanksgiving meal planning and head to Main Street on Friday, Nov. 19, for the Wells Fargo Christmas tree lighting.

The lighting ceremony will include music and a visit from Santa.

The Tonettes, an all-girl jazz quintet, will perform jazzy renditions of “Carol of the Bells,” “Santa Baby,” “O Holy Night” and other Christmas songs, in front of Wells Fargo Bank, 359 Main St., beginning at 5 p.m.

The tree lighting will be at 5:45 p.m., and the Jolly Old Elf from the North Pole will make an appearance shortly after, staying to visit with the kids until 7 p.m.

Students from Dos Rios Elementary School will sell goodies to support their music department.
