Lions host annual carnival, parade

Under the circus big top is the place to be Saturday, Feb. 16, during the 84th annual Grand Junction Lions Club Carnival and Parade.

The parade will begin at 1 p.m. on Main Street moving from west to east from Second Street to Seventh Street.

The carnival will open at 5 p.m. at Two Rivers Convention Center with an “Under the Big Top” theme.

Admission to the carnival is free and games range from 25 cents to $1 per play. The carnival will go until all the prizes are gone.

The raffle will begin at 5:30 p.m. with more than 300 prizes valued at more than $33,000. Raffle tickets can be purchased from Grand Junction Lions Club members and you need not be present to win.

Proceeds from the carnival and raffle will fund grant donations of $125,000 to nine nonprofit projects and organizations in Mesa County.
