Longmont man shot in leg during home burglary

LONGMONT — A Longmont homeowner was shot in the leg during a confrontation with a man he found burglarizing his home.

Police Cmdr. Jeff Satur said the homeowner called police Wednesday morning to report a burglary in progress. He told investigators that he was out of his home playing with his dogs and returned to find a burglar armed with one of his own guns.

According to the Longmont Times-Call, the suspect escaped after the shooting. The victim was not identified.
