Loveland man in police shoving video convicted
FORT COLLINS — A Loveland man who gained widespread attention over a video of him being shoved by a Fort Collins police officer has been convicted of obstructing and resisting arrest.
Jurors acquitted Matt Hefferon tampering and criminal mischief. Hefferon was sentenced to a year of probation, according to court records obtained by the Fort Collins Coloradoan.
Hefferon and two friends were charged following a March incident in which the three got into a confrontation with a pedi-cab driver after accidentally breaking a tail light.
The three men argued with the driver, and Hefferon’s two friends recorded him arguing with a police officer who came to investigate.
