‘Make the Season Bright’ holiday show to feature 12-member orchestra

A family holiday show, presented by the Western Slope Concert Series, will brighten spirits at two western Colorado venues.

“Make the Season Bright” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3 at the Avalon Theatre in Grand Junction and at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at the Montrose Pavilion in Montrose.

According to a news release, the concert will feature a 12-member orchestra of violins, violas, harp, cello, brass, piano and percussion. There will also be a “fantastic” soprano and “two awesome star ballet dancers” from New York City.

Audiences will hear music from “The Nutcracker” as dancers perform, as well as familiar holiday carols, Celtic Christmas music and more.

It’s rumored that Santa Claus will be there and kids will be invited to join the jolly old elf on stage after the concert.

All seats are reserved and tickets for adults are $26, $31 and $36 in advance and $29, $34 and $39 at the door. Tickets for those ages 12 and younger are $16, $21 and $26.

Tickets are available at http://www.JunctionConcerts.com, at Roper Music in Grand Junction and the Montrose Pavilion in Montrose.
