Mesa State Dance Society to perform ‘Naked Soles’ fundraiser at Moss Center

Dancers with the Mesa State College Dance Society will bare their soles for a student-directed concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Robinson Theatre in the Moss Performing Arts Center, 1231 N. 12th St.

“Naked Soles” will feature “group and solo works, in modern, jazz, hip-hop, tap, swing, musical theatre, contemporary and ballet,” a news release from the college said.

Students are taking the lead in nearly every aspect of the concert — direction, choreography, dancing — and make up the technical staff, the release said.

The Dance Society is a student organization, its mission is to “bring together students who have an appreciation and a love for dance and performing,” the release said.

Proceeds from “Naked Soles” will help Dance Society students attend the American College Dance Festival and other group activities.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students.
