Mesa’s Box, Robertson make All-America team

Colorado Mesa University baseball players Braden Box and Nate Robertson were selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association NCAA Division II All-America team.

Box, a senior second baseman, made the first team. He led Mesa with a .407 batting average. He had 11 doubles, 42 RBI, 24 stolen bases and .453 on-base percentage. Box was selected to the Daktronics All-America third team last week. Members of the College Sports Information Directors of America select the All-America team sponsored by Daktronics.

Robertson, a sophomore shortstop, made the ABCA third team. He led Mesa with 47 RBI. He had a .381 batting average with 13 doubles, five home runs and 24 stolen bases.

The Mavericks (45-11) are ranked 19th in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper coaches poll. Mesa reached the NCAA Division II tournament for the fifth consecutive season.
