MOG Outdoor Fest to feature bikes, films, music and food
The MOG Outdoor Fest is a celebration of all things outdoors, offering premier outdoor brand vendors from Manufacturers of Outdoor Gear (MOG), a bike swap and adrenaline-laced short films, on Friday and Saturday, April 18–19.
The outdoor festival will actually begin indoors with the screening of Telluride Mountainfilm on Tour at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, at Mesa Theater and Lounge, 538 Main St.
The award-winning short films are selected from the international Mountainfilm Festival in Telluride and audiences will get the behind the scenes scoop on each of the film’s unique and inspiring stories. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets cost $8 at the door and $5 for students with ID.
On Saturday, April 19, the MOG Outdoor Fest really will be outside from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 19, with deals on gear and apparel and brands from around the region. The vendors will be set up in the 400 block of Main Street offering the outdoor gamut: mountain/road/park bikes, skis, snowboards, gear, apparel, outerwear, footwear, tents, sleeping bags, accessories, snowshoes skateboards/longboards, and more.
There will be live music, contests, raffle drawings, kids’ activities, free doughnuts in the morning (while they last) and a beer garden throughout the day.
Admission is free.
The COPMOBA Bike and Gear Swap also will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the corner of Fourth Street and Rood Avenue. Shoppers are admitted free.
A $15 seller’s fee will benefit the Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association, and covers all the gear you can sell (mountain bikes, road bikes, motorcycles, rafts, kayaks, gear, apparel and more). Register for a space beginning at 9 a.m.
While at the fest, watch the Maverick Classic regional collegiate championship criterium road races beginning at 1 p.m. then stay late for live music from Jack+Jill from 7–9 p.m.
