Montrose plans three-day extravaganza of all things Christmas

A Community Christmas Tree Lighting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Friday in front of the Montrose County Courthouse.

The event will include:

Turning on lights on the tree.

Performances by Dance Around and the Montrose High School Belcanto Choir.

A presentation of colors by the NJROTC.

And, Montrose Regional Library District Development Officer Amy McBride will read “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

The Christmas Stroll of Main Street will take place after the tree lighting. Shops will remain open until 9 p.m. during the stroll and offer hot drinks and treats. The first-time event will continue Saturday and Sunday.

Santa will appear at the tree lighting and then be available in Santa’s Cabin, beginning at 7 p.m. Friday in Centennial Plaza. Santa also will be downtown from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 26, Dec. 4, Dec. 10, Dec. 11, Dec. 17, Dec. 18 and Dec. 23, and he will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 3 and 5:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 22.

Santa will appear at The North Pole at Oxbow Crossing from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 26, Dec. 4, Dec. 11, Dec. 17, Dec. 18 and Dec. 23, and from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 3, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 4, and 3 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 22.
