Music Scene: Dirty Bourbon River Show, more local shows

If dirty is how you like your bourbon, then pour yourself a smooth glass of the Dirty Bourbon River Show when it comes to town on Saturday, July 19, at Sabrosa, 122 S. Fifth St.

Fresh off a performance at New Orleans’ infamous Jazz Fest, Dirty Bourbon River Show launched a tour in late April that takes the band on the road through October, performing what it describes as “New Orleans Gypsy Brass Circus Rock,” on its Facebook page. (Imagine a rock-infused gypsy sound with a traditional, Big Easy brass band foundation).

“Dirty Bourbon River Show has released an impressive eight studio albums in the last four years, all while maintaining a vigorous tour schedule spanning the United States,” a news release said.

Its December 2013 release, “Accordion Anthology,” offers an innovative approach to its own material, “re-imagining” tracks from its previous albums using accordion as the core instrument in each arrangement, the release said.

Its ninth studio album is in the works for later this year.

Call Sabrosa at 257-9020 for show information.
