Las Vegas-based singer/songwriter Big B loves music. In fact, he cites rock, rap, hip-hop, reggae and country among the influences he uses in his songs.

Big B will play an acoustic set at 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, as part of the Everlast show that also features Rebecca Ann Henry.

Tickets for the all-ages show cost $24 in advance or $28 the day of the show at Mesa Theater and Lounge, 538 Main St.

Doors open at 8 p.m.

Big B is touring to support his sixth studio album, “Fool’s Gold,” that features collaborations with numerous musicians, including pop icon Pink.

Big B, Pink and producer Butch Walker wrote the tune “Here Comes the Lighting” off the “Fool’s Gold” album after Big B and Pink, a friend of his, talked for years about working together and finally found time to make it work.

“I was on tour and had to cancel a date because they were both available,” Big B said of Pink and Walker. “I had to go around her schedule. We made that song in one day.”

His collaborations are one of the things Big B said he is most proud of because, as in many professions, it sometimes helps to have minds working together on a common goal.

He said ticket holders for his Grand Junction show can expect a more mellow sound during his live, acoustic show than the sound from his albums, but he enjoys the different vibe an acoustic show gives his fans.
