Dan Navarro, a singer/songwriter and prominent voice actor, will play an intimate show at 7 p.m. Friday, June 22, at Cavalcade, 201 E. Aspen Ave., in Fruita.

According to Navarro’s bio posted at, he is “a singer and voice actor in major motion pictures, television series, commercials and recordings, including the smash hit ‘The Lorax,’ plus ‘Happy Feet’ (1 & 2), ‘Rio’ (Oscar nominated ‘Real In Rio’), ‘Ice Age’ (2 & 3), ‘Robots,’ ‘The Mexican,’ ‘The Emperor’s New Groove,’ and ‘Envy.’ “

Navarro also is credited on the television series “Prison Break,” “Family Guy,” “American Dad” and “The Cleveland Show.”

The bio adds that he has recorded “with Neil Young, Andrea Bocelli, Luis Miguel, Jose Feliciano, Susanna Hoffs and Jon Anderson of Yes and appeared in commercials for Shakey’s Pizza, McDonald’s, Toyota, Coca-Cola, Honda, El Pollo Loco, Nationwide and literally hundreds of others.”

Navarro wrote the Grammy-nominated song “We Belong,” sung by Pat Benatar and has penned songs for The Bangles, Jackson Browne, Keb’ Mo’, Dave Edmunds, The Temptations, Dionne Warwick, Dutch superstar Marco Borsato, The Triplets, Austin outlaw legend Rusty Weir and more, the bio says.

Navarro was half of the acoustic duo Lowen & Navarro with longtime musical partner Eric Lowen. When Lowen retired in 2009, Navarro’s career as a solo artist on the national concert circuit gathered speed. Lowen died earlier this year after a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
