Self-proclaimed as the “hardest working underground metal band in the States,” Hemlock is celebrating 20 years of music, songs, tours and adventures.

The Las Vegas, Nev.-based rockers will play at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Mesa Theater and Lounge, 538 Main St.

According to Hemlockworld.com, the band has released seven full-length albums, toured the United States extensively and played venues in Canada, Europe and Japan. Touring about eight months a year, Hemlock has shared the tour bill with Slayer, Slipknot, Ministry, Meshuggah, Otep, Disturbed, Hatebreed, Lamb of God, Chimiara, Snot, Devil Driver, Machine Head, Mastodon and others.

“Hemlock’s sound is a heavy blend of chugging riffs, deep bass tones, rhythmic grooves and catchy lyrics, with a haberdash of melody mixed in,” the website says “The lyrics are always creative and positive, and the songs have lots of scream-alongs and hooks.”

Admission to the Mesa Theater and Lounge show is $12.
