Those who enjoy strange sounds, weird outfits and living in the moment will fit right in at the Elbow Coulee show happening at 8 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Cavalcade, 201 E. Aspen Ave., in Fruita.

Bearing the same moniker as a 9.8 mile loop mountain bike trail near Twisp, Washington, the Olympia, Washington-based trio’s members are Andrew Tuller, Matt Tuller and Joshua Morgan,

“Elbow Coulee is dance, sweat, passion, strange sounds, pop vocals, and a horribly fun habit of living in the moment,” says the band’s Facebook page bio

Elbow Coulee performs a combination of “synth-pop, new wave, indie dance, and rocktronica,” the bio said.

“Elbow Coulee emerged in 2007 from the Methow Valley, a rugged mountain region nestled deep in the heart of the North Cascades. Since its inception, the band has taken to writing hard driving dance rock scores that flirt with indie-pop sensibilities,” says the band’s bio at elbowcoulee.com. Visit the website to learn about the band, hear music samples and view music videos.

Tickets to the Fruita show cost $3. Call 260-5413 or go to Cavalcadefruita.com for information.
