Music Scene: Nov. 1-7
Salt Lake City-based rock band Royal Bliss is touring and will make a stop at Mesa Theater and Lounge, 538 Main St., on Saturday, Nov. 2.
Royal Bliss is joined by guests Wayland, Concrete Effect and Augmented, and doors open at 8 p.m.
“It has been nearly 13 years of bliss, Royal Bliss that is,” begins the band’s bio at Royalbliss.com.
“Royal Bliss is modern rock with equal parts beauty and tragedy. The band has already been through enough to justify their own VH1 Behind the Music episode complete with addiction, near death experiences, car crashes, and law suits,” the website said.
What began as kids jamming in a basement grew into tours with notables such as Buckcherry, Candlebox, Chevelle, Kid Rock and Papa Roach.
“In 2006 they caught the attention of Jason Flom (Kid Rock, Katy Perry) from Capitol Records,” the bio said. “In 2009 their Capitol Records debut “Life In-Between” charted in the Billboard Top 200 and was No. 1 in Billboard Heatseekers.”
Royal Bliss’s follow up, “Waiting Out The Storm,” was independently released in January 2012, reaching the top 10 on the iTunes Rock and again taking the No. 1 album spot on Billboard Heatseekers.
Tickets to Saturday’s show cost $11 in advance and $14 the day of the show.
