More than 300 roving and performing musicians will greet visitors to downtown Main Street during the Spirit of Christmas Walk from 5:30–9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9.

Along with the wide range of musicians, barbershop quartets and choirs, there will be clowns, pets, theater and dance groups and the Jolly Old Elf himself.

Here is an abbreviated list of the musical entertainment scheduled to perform:

Steve Williams, jazz guitarist, will be inside Main Street Bagels; the Colorado Mesa University Tuba Band will be on the Wells Fargo patio; the Orchard Mesa Middle School Choir will be in front of Haggle of Vendors; the Orchard Mesa Middle School Jazz Band will perform indoors at Brown Cycles; the Central High School Choir will be at the Splash Fountain; and the Kokopelli Bell Choir will be outside of Unique Expressions.

Also, The Music Teachers Association will have various student groups performing, Bookcliff Chorus and Sweet Adelines will offer barbershop harmony and Huey will perform on keyboard. Vocalists Miss Emily Em and Katie Walter, the Susan Cypher musical group, the St. Joseph’s Children’s Choir, the Lisa Bush Bell Choir, the First Congregational Church’s bell ringers and many others will entertain.

Various shops will be open and serving hot drinks and treats. Horse drawn carriage rides and rickshaw rides also will add a festive touch to the evening.
