Music Scene: Mesa State College Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Combo

Drum roll please ...

Timpani drum, snare drum, bass drum, cymbals and more will sound during the Mesa State College Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Combo concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, at the Recital Hall in Mesa State’s Moss Performing Arts Center, 1231 N. 12th St.

“The program will open with the Percussion Ensemble performing jazz and world music works with humorous influences, including “Minuano” by Pat Metheny, “Tusk!” by David Jarvis, “Brooms Hilda” by Chris Crockarell and “William Tell’s Canned Overture” by Michael Rhodes,” a news release from the college said.

The Jazz Combo will perform original student compositions and arrangements.

The concert will conclude with a joint performance by the Jazz Combo and Percussion Ensemble.

Tickets cost $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for students and children.
