Music Scene: Shotgun Hodown

Shotgun Hodown is debuting its new CD, “Necro Nuclear High Desert Outlaw,” with a release party from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, June 3, at Tenacious Brothers Pub, 118 S. Seventh St.

The CD is “an object of fascinating, genre bending, throttle country-punk rock and roll,” according to a news release.

Visit the band’s Facebook page to understand the term “genre bending,” which in the case of Shotgun Hodown means “Rob Zombie & Johnny Cash go to the Circus,” the page says.

The Grand Junction-based band’s music also has touches of cannibal country, alternative rock, and psychedelic.
