National Watermedia Exhibit opens at The Art Center

The 19th annual National Watermedia Exhibit will open Tuesday, March 1, at The Art Center, 1803 N. Seventh St.

The Western Colorado Watercolor Society presents the only juried national watercolor show in western Colorado, offering visitors the opportunity to see some of the top nationally known artists.

Rockies West National juror Paul Jackson, who hails from Missouri, selected 70 works for the show.

Artwork from artists in 28 states is in the show, including watercolors created by artists from Grand Junction, Palisade, Delta, Hotchkiss, Whitewater, Montrose, Aspen, Glenwood Springs and Moab, Utah.

Jackson will conduct workshops for artists Wednesday through Friday, March 2–4. Interested artists can call Virginia Blackstock at 872-2245 for workshop information.

The exhibit will be on display from Tuesday through April 2. An opening reception will be from 7–9 p.m. Friday, March 4.
