Cinco de Mayo celebrations abound
It doesn’t happen often, but this year, Cinco de Mayo actually falls on Saturday and there will be multiple celebrations that day.
From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 5, the Latin Anglo Alliance Foundation will host a free event on Colorado Avenue between Sixth and Seventh streets.
A variety of entertainment will be offered through the day along with a Kiddy Land area, food, crafts and information vendors.
A street dance with music by Gonzalo will begin at 6 p.m. and admission is $2.

Also scheduled for Saturday is the Al Hurricane/Solo’s Cinco Hoppin’ Fiesta & Car Show.
This event will go from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the Lincoln Park Loop.
The car show features low-riders, kids games, a Bump ‘n’ Jump, vendors and food. There will be music and dancing with Al Hurricane and Al Jr. Grupo Impresion, Sangre Nueva, Latin Knights, Amanda Perez and DDTX of Lighter Shade of Brown.
