Numerous activities planned in Fruita

You can be rockin’ around the Christmas tree while at the Fruita Hometown Christmas festivities on Saturday, Dec. 17, in Fruita.

There will be photos with Santa Claus and a canned food drive put on by the Fruita Rotary Club from 1–4 p.m. at Cavalcade, 201 E. Aspen Ave.

Girl Scouts of Colorado will have a Mitten Tree at 2:30 p.m. at the Fruita Civic Center Park and will accept donations of hats, gloves, mittens and scarves.

A Christmas Cantata will be presented at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 405 E. Aspen Ave.

And don’t miss the live Nativity scene that begins at 4:30 p.m. at First Assembly of God, 108 S. Peach.

Line up early for the Parade of Lights with the theme “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” which starts at 5:30 p.m.

Then warm up at a chili supper:

The Fruita Lioness will start serving a chili supper at 5 p.m. at the IOOF Hall on South Park Square.

The Sacred Heart parish’s chili dinner will start at 6 p.m. at 433 E. Aspen Ave.
