OA: New venues team with Raindance Promotions

Raindance Promotions has expanded its reach to regularly booking bands at more area restaurants and venues, opening up new outlets for local and out-of-towners to play in the Grand Valley.

Smuggler’s Brew Pub, Fast Eddy’s and Weaver’s Tavern now have Raindance promoted concerts. The local promoter will continue to host the popular, long-running open mic night at the Rockslide Brew Pub and plans to start Wednesday night concerts in Mesa Theater and Club’s Lounge.

“I’m always looking for new acts and new venues,” said James Williams, Raindance owner.
Lipbone Redding, a musician and mouth trumpeter from New York City, plays at 10 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Weaver’s Tavern.

Playing Wednesday, March 11, at Smuggler’s is a new local acoustic rock band called Dualakoo. They play music with a ’90s flair (http://www.myspace.com/dualakoo).

Catch shows at these venues on these nights:

•  Mondays — 10 p.m., Weaver’s Tavern, 103 N. First St.

•  Wednesday — 8 p.m. at Smuggler’s Brew Pub, 2412 Highway 6&50; 9 p.m. at Mesa Theater and Club, 538 Main St.
