Last year I had an epiphany: Shoes don’t always have to be black or brown.
Although I am in the fashion business, I have always clung tightly to traditionally colored footwear. Each year, I search for the perfect pair of boots, and last year I found them in ivory.
Since then, I have amassed quite a collection of colored boots, from emerald green to deep plum purple. Although they may not get as much wear as black boots, they certainly add flavor to a sometimes bland winter wardrobe.
An alternative color choice does not have to be extreme, even gray or burgundy can really add a twist.
Boots are a big investment, so choose a classic style in an interesting color and enjoy them for many winters.
