The notion of folk art and fashion may conjure up thoughts of cross-stitched purses and quilts made into jackets.
Although utilitarian, it’s hard to imagine this style making its way into the fashion world.
But get ready, because folk art and all of its charm is adding a new dimension to today’s style.
Folk art is characterized by bold forms and strong colors. Look for simple images of birds and owls sewn onto scarves and handbags. Other silhouettes, such as trees and leaves, add an artistic element to a basic sweater or hoodie.
Whimsical and fresh, the folk art influence adds life to a winter wardrobe.
