Make gift-giving unique with scrapbooking
“The children were nestled all snug in their beds./ While visions of sugar plums danced in their heads./ And mama in her ’kerchief, and I in my cap,” had just settled down for a long night of wrapping massive amounts of presents.
So I never got around to making my own holiday cards this year. Time just got away from me.
What I am going to make an honest effort to do is make handmade gift tags, for that added oomph.
I absolutely love the ideas at Scrapbooksetc.com. Go to the site’s homepage and click on the “Holiday tags” link. Or Google “gift tag ideas.”
Scrapbooksetc.com suggests making festive gift tags for Christmas and Hanukkah gifts from supplies you may already have in craft drawers or scrapbooking stashes.
Most of the tags start with card stock and are embellished with buttons, brads, stickers, ink and cutouts. My favorite tag idea has tiny jingle bells on it.
Instead of scribbling “To: Mom. From: Your kid” on a scrap piece of wrapping paper, make something that really says, “I love you.”
