OutFit: Blazers

Tess Furey’s column,

Tess on the Town, will return in August 17’s edition of Out & About.

What piece of clothing works for any occasion, makes you feel more confident, and pulls together every ensemble? This miracle item is a blazer jacket and it is essential this season.

The trendiest blazer is printed in everything from vintage floral patterns to cool graphic designs. Wear a printed blazer with jeans and a solid or small print top.

Mixing and matching is more difficult, but worth the effort for a totally unique style.

A classic blazer has the most versatility and longevity. It dresses up shorts or jeans and can also be worn to the office and evening functions. A cropped blazer is another fashion forward option. Pair it with a sheath dress or pencil skirt for a trendy work appropriate outfit or wear it with shorts and a maxi dress for the weekend.

Try different proportions and styles to find the perfect blazer. It’s worth the extra time to find the right cut and fit for an item that is sure to be worn often.
