OutFit: Out of the box
If you are short on time and money, you can still have a fun and creative Halloween costume. All you need is a cardboard box and some household items.
Here are a few ideas to get you started.
■ Fuzzy die — Cover the box with white plush material and cut out black felt circles for the dots. Attach the dots with double-sided tape.
■ Rubik’s cube — Cut out squares of different colored poster board and attach Velcro to the box and the back of your squares so that the cube colors can be rearranged.
■ Popcorn — Paint the box white and add stripes with red duct tape. Cut your popcorn logo out of red felt and attach with spray adhesive. Add popcorn to the top of your box with packing peanuts and affix with more spray adhesive.
■ Washing Machine — Spray the box silver and attach an empty detergent bottle and scoop to the top. Use a clear plastic take-out lid to be your front loading machine. Put bubble wrap and a sock behind the lid to make the machine look full of bubbles and laundry.
Have fun making your one-of-a-kind costume. Happy Halloween!
