Hemlines have been up and down like the stock exchange, but rarely have they gone much below the knee, until this season.

Long skirts are a surprise hit, but a tricky trend. Here are a few tips on how to pull it off.

First, choose a skirt in a solid color jersey or cotton material. Avoid prints and stiff fabrics, as they will make the skirt seem dated and old fashioned.

Pair it with a tank and cropped cardigan or a fitted knit top. The style should be effortless, not uptight.

Elongate your silhouette with a maxi skirt and you are sure to feel a little more glamorous.
