OutFit: Ruffles rule

Ivy ParnasiusRuffles rule

The shift from summer’s Bohemian looks to fall’s romantic styles has been subtle.

As fashion returns to its girly roots, ruffles abound in both clothing and accessories.

A ruffled blouse looks modern and chic when worn under a fitted blazer for work. The same blouse has a sexy appeal when paired with dark jeans and heels for evening.

Pump up the volume with a traditional wool coat trimmed in ruffles.

If you like the trend but not the extra fabric, look for boots or a handbag with flirty little ruffle details.

Distinctly soft and feminine, ruffles will give you something to smile about this winter.

On another note, the results are in from my fashion question to readers on Oct. 16: Shoulder pads were voted a fashion don’t in the Grand Valley.

Thanks for all of your input!
