Palisade gallery features ‘Homeless Series’
Local artist Bhreon Bynum will feature his Homeless Series during an upcoming show and fundraiser 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, July 19, at The Art Cellar, 301 S. Main St., in Palisade.
Bynum, 27, who owns Bhreon Bynum Fine Art and also specializes in custom airbrushing, is an Art Cellar artist who spent nearly 10 months producing the series.
The Art Cellar, a student and emerging artist gallery in the Blue Pig Gallery’s downstairs, will collect non-perishable food items and paper goods during the event to benefit Grand Junction’s The Asset House, a transitional program for Grand Valley’s homeless.
In addition, a percentage of money from the sale of Bynum’s work at the fundraiser will be donated to The Asset House.
“It’s such a wonderful cause and something very much needed,” said The Art Cellar Director Sarah Winder. “(The Asset House was) excited, and I’m excited to work with them.”
The Homeless Series will be hung in The Art Cellar through the beginning of August, but the fundraiser is only Saturday.
