Palisade to celebrate Olde Fashioned Christmas
The three-day Palisade Olde Fashioned Christmas is packed with events for young and old.
It begins Friday, Dec. 11, with an art and chocolate walk from 5–8 p.m. Visit Twisted Brick Studios, The Blue Pig Gallery, Tim Wedel Studio and Mumzel’s Art and Antiques to view art while enjoying chocolate treats.
The Palisade Christmas Tree lighting also is on Friday, Dec. 11, at 5:30 p.m. in downtown Palisade.
Saturday, Dec. 12, is packed with events, including the Gingerbread House Contest & Showcase from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Methodist Church, a soup challenge from 1–3 p.m. at The Blue Pig Gallery, a Chili Cook-off from 2:30–5:30 p.m. at the Palisade Fire Department, and a toy run and Show & Shine Car Show from noon to 2 p.m. in downtown Palisade.
Downtown Palisade will be the site of many more activities beginning between 11 a.m. and noon on Saturday, Dec. 12. There will be train rides for kids, wagon rides for everyone, a historic walking tour, a tour of Victorian homes, vendor booths, wine tastings, a silent auction and more. From 2–4 p.m., Santa Claus will be at Chair 4 Studio.
The Christmas Parade begins at 5:30 p.m. and there will be additional evening festivities from 6–10 p.m.
For Sunday, Dec. 13, there is a Christmas Tea planned from noon to 2 p.m. in The Wine Country Inn’s Vineyard Ballroom. Tickets are $10 per person or $15 for an adult and child and can be purchased at the Palisade Chamber of Commerce on Main Street.
