Palm Beach eliminates Kaskaskia from JUCO

Palm Beach State (Fla.) College got a complete game from pitcher Ryan Pistey and made the most of its nine hits Sunday to remain alive in the Alpine Bank Junior College World Series.
The Panthers (39-20) also played excellent defense, getting two outfield assists, as they defeated Kaskaskia (Ill.) College 7-1 in an elimination game at Suplizio Field.
Pistey got through a rough first inning, hitting a batter, walking two and allowing a run-scoring single, but he left the bases loaded and settled down thereafter. Pistey scattered 10 hits, walked four and struck out three.
Marcus Mooney and Dan Hudzina each had three hits for Palm Beach, and No. 3 hitter J.D. Underwood hit a solo home run and drove in four runs.
The Panthers stranded a mere three runners, while Kaskaskia (39-12) left 12 runners on base.
