Poco concert will end Riverfront series season
Country rock pioneers Poco will perform at the final 2013 Colorado Riverfront Concert Series concert set for Friday, Aug. 16, at the James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park, Fruita Section.
Best known for its hits “Crazy Love” and “Heart of the Night,” Poco was formed 1968 by Richie Furay, Jim Messina and Rusty Young.
Poco has had a number of band members come and go over the year — a member timeline can be found at poconut.org — with Young being the only constant.
The current lineup is: Young on steel guitar and other string instruments; Jack Sundrud, bass; George Lawrence, drums; and Michael Webb, keyboards.
Gates will open for the concert at 6 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m. Take chairs and a picnic. Food, beer, wine, water, soft drinks and lemonade are available to purchase. No outside beverages are allowed.
Tickets — a ticket outlet service charge applies even though the tickets are free — are available at City Market stores and TicketsWest.com.
