Powderhorn puts Thursday opener on hold

Powderhorn Mountain Resort will not open as planned Thursday for the 2012-2013 ski season, according to the resort’s web site.
A lack of sufficient snow has caused the resort to delay the opening “to as soon as Saturday, weather permitting,” the web site says.
“Such decisions are not easy and are ultimately based on being able to provide a safe and quality experience for our guests and employees,” according to the Powderhorn Facebook page (http://www.powderhorn.com). “That said, we will be postponing our Thursday opening day celebration to as soon as Saturday, weather permitting.”
The resort reported 7 inches of new snow over the weekend.
