Puppet show ‘Just Kidding’ teaches kids about library and pitfalls of scary pranks

A black light will create a fun effect for kids attending Mesa County Libraries’ puppet show “Just Kidding.”

The puppets will glow during the show about a fish named Giggles, who thinks it’s funny to yell “shark” and scare his friends.

Along with sharing with kids about the services the library provides, the story teaches that it’s not nice to pull jokes that scare others.

“Just Kidding” was written by Cheryl Moe, a librarian in the Central Library’s Children’s Center.

The puppet show will be presented at the libraries’ branches through Oct. 29 at the following times and locations:

Oct. 14, 2:30 p.m., De Beque Branch, 730 Minter Ave., De Beque.

Oct. 18, 10 a.m., Orchard Mesa Branch, 230 Lynwood St.
