Round it up

Don’t be shy. Get up to Glade Park for the Glade Park Roundup with a day full of family friendly activities.

It begins at 11 a.m. with a parade from the Glade Park Post Office to the Glade Park Community Center.

From there you will be able to find water fights, rappelling and a vehicle extrication demo at the Glade Park Volunteer Fire Department.

Over at the community center there will be a food, a bump ‘n’ jump, dunk tank, barrel train rides, games, a cake walk and live music.

Discover Zimbabwe!

Learn a little about the African country of Zimbabwe via a three-day event in Paonia.

Discover Zimbabwe! starts with a free film screening of “Neria” 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Blue Sage Center for the Arts, 226 Grand Ave., in Paonia. “Neira” was produced by local filmmaker Steve Smith.

Partake in a traditional Zimbabwean dinner ($25) at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Paonia Town Hall followed by a concert ($13–$23) with marimba player and vocalist Musekiwa Chingodza at 7:30 p.m. at the Blue Sage Center.

Chingodza will offer two marimba and vocal workshops ($25) at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Blue Sage Center.

“What’s Pinteresting?”

Well, you’re about to find out with a ladies night out at Mesa Mall from 4–7 p.m. Saturday.

During this mall-wide fashion event, there will be live music, a food-and-drink lounge, giveaways, “Style Closet” demonstrations, tutorials and tips on fall fashion trends.
