The Mesa County Fair is wrapping up, but there’s still time to visit the rides and games on Midway, to catch a 4-H/FFA livestock show, to listen to live music and to see the exhibits and demonstrations open to the public. Admission is $6 daily for adults, $4 for seniors (60+) or $2 for children 3-12.

Join five poets for readings at 5 p.m. at Le Rouge Restaurant & Piano Bar, 317 Main St. The five poets featured at the French restaurant are Jennifer Hancock, Danny Rosen, Benjamin Dunham, Kyle Harvey and Frank H. Coons.

Get a sneak peek at High Desert Opera’s upcoming performances of “Madame Butterfly” at 6 p.m. at the Mesa County Libraries Central Library, 443 N. Sixth St. Some of the principals cast in the local production of the classic Giacomo Puccini opera will perform excerpts. Ed Arnos will talk “Madame Butterfly,” explaining more what it’s about.
