Salsa night
Salsa dance the night away with a free dance lesson from Grand Junction’s La Puerta Dance Studio.
The lessons and chance to dance the upbeat Latin style are from 7–10 p.m. at Roasted Espresso and Subs, 520 Colorado Ave.
Donations at Salsa Night 3 will be accepted for Sustainable Roots and its work to support building greenhouses and education programs in Ecuador.

College football is wasting no time getting people amped for the 2012 season by shaking up the polls when No. 2 Alabama faces No. 8 Michigan on a neutral field in Dallas. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. on ABC.
Monday, Sept. 3
Last splash
Summer isn’t officially over, but the splashing is nearly over at Lincoln Park-Moyer Swimming Pool.
The pool is open from 1:30–7:30 p.m. for its final day. Take one last slide or dip in the deep end, at least in the outdoor pool.
And for the barking set, the pool’s Dog Days will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, Cost is $5 a dog or $12 for up to four dogs belonging to the same family.
