Saturday, Aug. 11

Hot. Cars. Rock.

Rock Jam is two weeks away, but Allen Unique Autos, the new title sponsor this year, is ready to rock.

The second annual Hot Summer Night car show and rock concert begins at 2 p.m. at the 2285 River Road business. The event features a free party, car show, Rock Jam giveaways and more.

Car show participants can enter until judging begins. Winners are announced at 6:30 p.m.

The KISS Army Tribute band performs at 8 p.m. for $8 a ticket, and organizers will unveil a 1954 Chevrolet formerly owned by “Monster Garage” host Jesse James.

Sunday, Aug. 12

Basketball gold

 

Do not set your DVR. Start your day at 8 a.m. with the Olympic gold-medal game in men’s basketball live on NBC.

If the U.S. squad doesn’t the championship game it will be the biggest upset of these Olympics.

The team is stocked with talent, including LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant.

The Baroque concert is title “Heroes + Madmen: Love and Betrayal.”

Tickets are $40 per person and include the performance, food tasting, tax and gratuity. A wine flight is an additional $15.

Go country

 

Most famous for singles “Let It Rain,” “Red Light” and “Turning Home,” country musician David Nail appearances at 8 p.m. at Two Rivers Convention Center.

Tickets are $12 for bleacher seats and $17 for floor. They are available at The Moose 100.7 studios, 1360 East Sherwood Drive, or at MonumentalEvents.com.

Nail, 33, debuted his first single 10 years ago, so go listen to how far this Missouri singer/songwriter has come.
