So long, summertime

School has started, the high temperatures have gone down a bit and it’s nearly September, so welcome to End of Summer Fest.

This event, which includes a car show, a brew fest and a country music concert is set for Saturday at Lincoln Park.

The car show ($5, ages 10 and younger free) will go from noon to 4 p.m., The brew fest ($21) will go from noon to 6 p.m. And tickets for the concert featuring Eric Paslay and Mo Pitney cost $20.

Ready to march


Support the Grand Junction High School Tigers Marching Band by attending a concert featuring local bands Bicycle Annie featuring Gonzales, Boogie Chillin’, Flat Fop Reed and Remember When.

The concert will be in the Grand Junction High School auditorium, 1400 N. Fifth St. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 6:45 p.m.

Admission is $10 and proceeds to the marching band.

Walk through and even fly in a Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber during a Commemorative Air Force AirPower History tour stop at Grand Junction Regional Airport.

The B-29 “FIFI” will be staged at West Star Aviation, 2828 Walker Field Drive, along with a C-45 Expeditor.

The planes can be viewed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Admission is $10 for adults or $5 for children ages 11–17. Children age 10 and younger are free.
