Carve a pumpkin, get your face painted and go for a hay ride at the Fall Harvest Festival in Montrose.

The event goes from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in Centennial Plaza downtown.

Along with the aforementioned activities, there will be live music, food vendors, demonstrations, and a petting zoo.

Join the adventure

Don your Star Trek uniform or transform yourself into a member of the undead for Mesa County Libraries’ free Comic Con.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday the Central Library at Fifth Street and Grand Avenue will host all kinds of characters as well as information and activities for all kinds of fans.

The schedule includes:

■ Intro to Cosplay with Shadowfall Workshop, 10 a.m. to noon

■ 501st Legion Meet & Greet, 1–2 p.m.

■ Panel of Geek Gurus, 2–3 p.m.

■ Costume contest and parade, 3 p.m.

■ Face painting for kids, 11 a.m. to noon.

■ Drawing with the Pros, Bryan Wade at 1 p.m., Aaron Herrera at 1:30 p.m. and Mary Carman at 2 p.m.

■ Fandom Meetups (each 45 minutes): Star Wars at 10 a.m.; superheroes, 11 a.m.; Anime & Manga, 1 p.m.; Star Trek, 2 p.m.; Doctor Who, 10 a.m.; Harry Potter, 11 a.m.; Walking Dead, 1 p.m.; and Pokemon/Nintendo, 2 p.m.
