Music’s night

The biggest names in music attend the 55th annual Grammy Awards at 7 p.m. on CBS.

The awards show is a relatively rare chance to see top artists from multiple genres and hear performances from some of the most popular stars.

Among the performers are: Frank Ocean, Mumford & Sons, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift, Jack White and Miranda Lambert.

Monday, Feb. 11

Good taste

 

Sample some of the best food in the area during the 11th annual Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley, a fundraiser for United Way of Mesa County.

The event will go from 4–7:30 p.m. at Two Rivers Convention Center and features food and beverage samples from all sorts of local restaurants, caterers or shops.

Advanced, discounted tickets are available through United Way (243-5364) or at unitedwaymesacounty.org.

Tickets at the door cost $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $7 for children.

Feb. 14–16

Dance, dance, dance

 

The Beyond Boundaries Dance Collective has an ambitious lineup of dances and dancers for its three 2013 Winter Dance Concerts, which begin at 7:30 p.m. each day at the Experimental Theater in the Moss Performing Arts Center at Colorado Mesa University.

Among the pieces on the program are a re-set dance celebrating February Heart Health Awareness Month, a dance about “community under stress,” three tap pieces and a ballet point solo.

Tickets cost $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6 for students.

The dance concerts are performed to raise funds for the student dance grants.
