It’s play time

Celebrate the piano during the two-day Festival for Creative Pianists that includes judged performances and recitals in the Recital Hall of the Moss Performing Arts Center at Colorado Mesa University.

The registered pianists will perform throughout the day Friday and Saturday, and those adjudications are free and open to the public.

A guest artist concert featuring the Luke Gillespie Trio is 7:30 p.m. Friday. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students at the door.

A Celebration of Students’ Best concert is 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for students.

Saturday, April 5

Cuteness alert!

Absolute Dance Toddler Performances are 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 2451 Patterson Road. A story time with the children’s book “A Carnival of the Animals” is 11:30 a.m. and costumed dancers will help bring the story to life.

Saturday, April 5

Spring cleaning

It’s Town Clean-Up Day in Palisade. Residents can take their trash, including tires, to Riverbend Park just west of the Lions Club shelter for disposal in three 40-yard roll-offs. The trash removal goes from 8 a.m. to noon, but the roll-offs will close once full.

Appliances, e-waste (electronics), paint or other hazardous materials are not allowed. If you have questions, call 464-1116, ext. 310.
