Bad memories from your high school prom? Create new ones during Big Kid Prom from 2–8 p.m. at Sabrosa Restaurante, 122 S. Fifth St. Admission cost $15 per person or $20 for couples at the door.
This is a fundraiser for the nonprofit Sustainable Roots. Go to Sustainable Roots’ Facebook page to nominate and vote for prom king and queen. Prizes will be given out.

Oratorio for Easter
Happy Easter! Celebrate with the ninth annual presentation of Handel’s oratorio “Messiah” as performed by The Messiah Choral Society. The performance will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Avalon Theatre, 645 Main St.
The event is free.
A short informance will be at 1:45 p.m., and give those in attendance information about the 1741 composition so as to enhance listeners’ enjoyment of the show.

The time for summer road trips is almost upon us. Get prepared by visiting the first day of the annual Grand Junction Daily Sentinel RV show, which opens at 8 a.m. at the Mesa County Fairgrounds, 2785 U.S. Highway 50.
The event runs through Saturday, April 6.
