The 2017 Mesa County Fair’s last two days are here and packed with activity.

On Friday, check out the Performing Arts Festival at 11 a.m., an eating contest — pizza at 1 p.m., ice cream at 4 p.m. — the 4H Parade of Champions from 4–6 p.m. and the Working Ranch Rodeo from 7–9 p.m.

On Saturday, the 4H/FFA Junior Livestock Sale begins at 1 p.m. and the Demolition Derby starts at 5 p.m.

And both days there is live music, more contests, wood carving, pig races and much, much more.

■ The Montrose County Fair continues through Sunday, July 30, in Montrose.

■ The Garfield County Fair and Rodeo is set for Monday through Sunday, July 31 through Aug. 6, in Rifle.

■ The Delta County Fair and Rodeo is set for Aug. 5–12 in Hotchkiss.

Saturday, July 29

Drive over

Cars, trucks, motorcycles, imports, rat rods, project vehicles and you are welcome at the Cops and Cars Car Show.

Enter a vehicle or attend the show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at Fruita Monument High School, 1102 Wildcat Ave.

The car show is a benefit for Special Olympics Colorado.

Pick this up

It’s time for Pickin’ In The Park: free concerts on four evenings at Paonia Town Park in Paonia.

First up is Peter Rowan with opener The Wooks at 6 p.m. Thursday in the park.

Following this show is Pato Banton with opener Freddy & Francine on Aug. 10, Ages and Ages with Tiffany Christopher on Aug. 17 and Session Americana with Russ Chapman on Aug. 24. All shows start at 6 p.m. in the park.

There also will be local food, beer and wine to purchase, as well as activities for children.
